Artist Kelly Schamberger

Kelly Schamberger (American, b. 1985) is an internationally-awarded and renowned fine artist, representational oil painter, and art instructor. Her work features plein air landscapes, portraiture, and still life arrangements in the styles of realism and classical impressionism.

Schamberger has been widely recognized in her artistic endeavors through awards and news features, has displayed and sold work in international, invitational, juried, solo, and museum exhibitions, and has received competitive grants. She is one of a select group of artists worldwide who had work included in the Lunar Codex time capsule placed on the moon by the Odysseus Lander in February 2024, and will also be included in the Polaris Collection moon time capsule launching in the fall of 2024. Schamberger has published a limited-edition fine art book titled Immersed in the Pause, and has exhibited at Sotheby’s New York, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minnesota Marine Art Museum, and Bell Museum.

Schamberger earned her bachelor's degree in art from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, continued her education in arts management at St. Mary's University in Minneapolis, studied graphic design and illustration at Boise State University, and then built the foundation for a fine art career through a four-year classical drawing and painting apprenticeship at the Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art. She works from a home studio space in Duluth, Minnesota, is a Board Member for the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota, and has work in private collections throughout the United States.

In her “other” professional life, Schamberger is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Marshall School, a private school for grades K-12, and oversees the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students. She is skilled in graphic and visual design for digital and print, brand development and management, marketing and communications voice and strategy, content creation, social media management, writing, speaking, mentoring, and relationship building. She is a champion and supporter of her local business community as an ambassador for the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, is part of the Chamber's current Leadership Duluth cohort, volunteers locally, and is deeply involved in the addiction recovery community through an organization called Celebrate Recovery. She was recently recognized as a community leader in Duluth’s 20 Under 40 awards, honored with the Mentor Award in the 2024 Rosie Awards, and spoke at the Minnesota State Capitol to kick off the annual Arts Advocacy Day of lobbying for the arts.
