SOLO EXHIBITION

  • Great Lakes Aquarium - Merrill Lynch Fine Arts Gallery 353 Harbor Drive Duluth, MN, 55802 United States (map)

Join us in the Merrill Lynch Fine Art Gallery at the Great Lakes Aquarium for the solo exhibition of work by Duluth-based representational oil painter, Kelly Schamberger.

Schamberger’s exhibition, IMMERSED IN THE PAUSE, contains a series of over 30 paintings exploring connection to the natural world around Duluth, Lake Superior, and the North Shore of Minnesota. In this collection, landscape, portraiture, and still life paintings highlight time spent in nature, concern for the environment, preservation of natural space and life, healing effects of the outdoors, and the mirror between seasonal change and life’s rhythms and emotions. The exhibit grants an opportunity to become immersed in a sense of pause… giving viewers permission to rest, observe, and refill their cups with gratitude for beauty, wonder, storytelling, mental health, and environmental stewardship. Schamberger’s artwork highlights the natural treasures and parks in the area, gives audiences an opportunity to encounter quality fine art in an unexpected place, demonstrates a small piece of the vibrant arts community that exists along the North Shore, and supports the incredible resource that is the Great Lakes Aquarium.

This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
